My name is Marissa Christian, and I’m the designer behind Wink Jewellery. I started Wink Jewellery in 2011 whilst on maternity leave with my daughter, Lucia. I’ve always been a creative person, and loved making jewellery, but working as a Chartered Accountant left me exhausted at the end of each day, so it wasn’t something I ever had the energy to pursue. Having a baby was life changing, to say the least. I saw my life in a whole new way – it was too short to waste doing a job that I wasn’t passionate about. I decided then that I wanted to own my own business, so I could do something I loved, while being able to stay home with my daughter.

My favourite materials are pearls – however I found that they are often seen as old fashioned and conservative by many younger people. I experimented by combining pearls with a wide range of materials to make exciting and modern pieces that would appeal to a younger age group. Read More »

I am a self-taught jewellery designer and I design and create all of my jewellery in my studio in Vancouver, Canada. I love using sterling silver, gemstones, fresh water pearls, crystals and wood to create simple, delicate earrings and necklaces.

The mountains, the ocean and the forests that surround Vancouver influence my designs. These landscapes are always changing and evolving and they give me fresh ideas as each new season begins and ends. I am also often inspired by the gemstones themselves and how natural light shows off their inner glow or special glimmer. Read More »

First of all, my inspiration comes from my early childhood watching my father work hard in his jewelry store. I never knew I would grow up to be a jeweler, but found my artistic abilities and desire to create things led me up the same road. I also am intrigued and inspired by nature and all aspects of it.

As an artist in the jewelry business I feel comfortable using all the precious metals. Most of the materials I use are gold and platinum, although I can use just about any metal a custom prefers. I also use diamonds and semi-precious stones such as sapphire, rubies, emeralds, morganite, topaz and etc. Read More »

I began to get involved in jewelry design when I was studying product design, during the development of the cutlery Doppelripp. I started to play with textile structures to be used as the handles for my cutlery. Since our world today seems flat and smooth, computer generated, I wanted to set something to oppose this concept and to introduce a haptic quality.

Textures bear a sensitive quality, they change when wearing and I believe that is a very natural concept. In nature nothing stays the same. Many of my clients value this concept when they buy my jewelry for their anniversary or wedding. Each time it’s a compliment to me, because love is the highest concept and I am always excited that a piece of my jewelry will be a link of their love. Read More »
