These unusual necklaces are made by the extraordinary person with very uneasy history of life. Lovetta Conto was born in Liberia, West Africa and fled to Ghana with her father as a refugee during the civil war. She grew up in refugee camp and was chosen as the first Strongheart Fellow. Nowadays Lovetta Conto is trying to help other people. She is finalist for The International Children’s Peace Prize 2008, given by KidsRight and The Nobel Peace Prize Winner’s Committee.
At first glance seemingly ordinary these necklaces contain a piece of life. The leaf pendant is made from melted bullet shells, the part that is left over after the bullet is fired. The bead is the actual bottom of the bullet shell. The money from necklace will help to create the first Strongheart House.
